Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026 (version 1.0)
This policy explains what information this website (galegal.co) collects. The site is operated by Gamboa Abogados S.A.S., a company domiciled in Bogotá D.C., taxpayer ID (NIT) 830.107.424-1.
It complements our Personal Data Processing Policy, which governs the Firm's processing of your data under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012. This English text is a courtesy translation; the Spanish version prevails.
01The short version
This site measures its traffic in two ways. One is a cookieless tool that produces aggregate statistics and cannot identify you: it always runs. The other is Google Analytics, which does set cookies and therefore does not load until you accept it in the notice shown when you arrive. Decline, and no cookie is set and the site works exactly the same. You can change your mind at any time via "Cookie preferences", at the foot of any page. All of this is explained in detail below.
02What we collect
- If you complete the contact form: whatever you type into it (name, email, phone if you provide one, and your enquiry). The form runs on Microsoft Forms and responses are stored in the Firm's Microsoft 365 environment.
- If you email us: the data contained in your message. The partner email addresses published on the site are plain links; the site neither intercepts nor stores anything.
- If you visit the contact page: that page embeds a Google Maps map showing our office location, which loads together with the page. Google therefore receives your IP address and may set cookies in your browser, under its own policies. It is the only third party to which this site discloses any data of yours.
- Server logs: our hosting provider records connection data — IP address, date and time, browser — for security and operational purposes, as any web server does.
03Cookies and usage statistics
Cookieless, always on: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a measurement tool that sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, assigns you no persistent identifier and does not follow you across sites. It yields only aggregate statistics — visits, most-viewed pages, referring site and device type — that cannot identify you. With no cookies involved, it needs no consent.
Cookie-based, subject to your consent: we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser, assigns you an identifier and lets Google analyse your browsing behaviour. That is why Google's script does not load until you accept it in the notice shown when you arrive. If you decline — or simply do not answer — no cookie is set, no data reaches Google, and the site works normally: no feature depends on your accepting.
Your consent is revocable at any time, as easily as it was given: the "Cookie preferences" link at the foot of any page reopens the notice so you can change your decision. Google Analytics is a service of Google LLC, based in the United States; accepting means your browsing data is processed there under Google's own policies, which are outside Gamboa Abogados' control.
04What we use it for
We use the information from the form and from your emails solely to assess and answer your enquiry, run a conflicts-of-interest check before accepting a matter, and, where appropriate, send you a fee proposal. We will send you bulletins or event invitations only if you separately and specifically authorize it, and you may withdraw that authorization at any time. We do not sell or share your information with third parties for commercial purposes.
05Your rights
You may access, update, rectify and delete your data, and withdraw any authorization you gave us, by writing to notificaciones@galegal.co. Deadlines and procedure are set out in the Personal Data Processing Policy.
If you are located in the European Union, you also have the rights afforded by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your Member State's supervisory authority. See the "Data subjects in the European Union" section of the Personal Data Processing Policy.
06Links to other sites
This site links to our lawyers' LinkedIn profiles, to the international network the Firm belongs to, and to the contact form hosted by Microsoft. Once you leave galegal.co, those third parties' privacy policies apply, and Gamboa Abogados has no control over them.
07Changes
If we amend this policy, we will publish the new version at this same address with its effective date. Substantial changes will be communicated before they take effect.
